I needed a nice large board and pieces for my newly resumed study of the game of chess. This is a very good value, and I am very happy with my purchase.
Like the title says, the chess pieces are great. Tall, well made and fun to play with on a board this size (19"). The board needs a little work. Top of the playing area on the board is well done, but the sides where the laminate wood meets the top was not smooth. Noticed when I unwrapped the board from the platic, there was some white stringy material stuck to the board. Turned out to be fiber where there was a bad edge on the trim work. Fixable, I'll have to coat the board in poly to seal the errors.
Shipping was good, and well packaged to prevent damage. The issue I had was with manufacturing. I should mention, I got this board because my grandson is learning chess. I don't want to have him snag or get hurt on the edge of the board where it could easily splinter if not remediated.

I'm a recent chess fanatic and wanted to get myself a legit board that will last a long time. I found Chess House and they're awesome. They are super intentional and clearly care about their customers.
