A great beginning!

My son was very happy to get this book along with, Bobby Fisher Teaches Chess. He is a bit more than a beginner and finds it helpful!

Great challenges

A solid book. My kids love going through the puzzles. I enjoy them as well. Some are easy and some a crazy hard.

A bit basic

Well, I was happy to get the book, and it supports a decent cause (usually it's distributed by the chessforstudents website) but it turns out the exercises are mostly very beginner. Like, they really help you to understand the RULES and their basic implications (oh look, the Black Rook is pinned to the Black King by the White Bishop, so you're NOT ALLOWED to move the Black Rook), and not very much further into TACTICS. I'd say this is a great book for anyone who is going to try teaching chess to grade-school level kids who have not yet learned the rules of chess.
