This set comes with good quality plastic pieces that have enough weight to move well, a storage bag for the pieces, and a roll up vinyl mat. The pieces hold up well, and have been dropped several times (accidentally) and look great!
I learned the moves for chess pieces 50 years ago. Since then the notation of play has changed significantly. The new board will be ideal to learn the new notation. The size and weight of the pieces is really nice.
Great quality, pieces have a lil heft to them which i like . No issues here, would buy again. Quality vinyl and comes with a bag too. You cant go wrong here!
I'M SO HAPPY it's finally here! TBH I love the sound of the solid(!) plastic pieces clacking around- I know they'll last FOREVER and so will the bag and mat! They're just like the chess sets I used to have in school, probably better.
Yeah, there's seam/molding lines on the pieces, white is more of a warm beige and the vinyl smells ~factory fresh~ but I bought this set to PLAY, not to look pretty. I can take it anywhere and nothing will happen to it, and it's easy to clean.
You cannot beat the value for the money from Chess House and I'm glad to support a small business.
