Standard Flat Wood Chess Box

Doesn't look like photo and cheaply made for price. I ordered the black colored box since picture shows red interior. Actual box arrived with green interior and barely held together by glue with spots of glue all over the chess box.

The only plus is the chess box holds my marble chess pieces securely. If I hadn't placed anything inside and damaged it some with cheap materials used..I would have returned it for sure.

Box will not fit my chess pieces….This is my third order from Chesshouse. I also ordered red and blue chess pieces that the color doesn’t look like the photo.

The chess box I received is one I think I pretty much have to keep, I have no housing for a set of chess pieces I have if I don't, but if I had the energy
to return this storage box I would. The box was the last one in stock in this model per Chess House, and frankly I think The Chess House sent me something somebody else had already returned before. The outside of the box was marked up with numerous, numerous scratches that were obviously made when it was manufactured and a few scratches that were made after it was manufactured, the end result is an unappealing pattern of scratches to the outside wood appearance of the box. I feel I did not get my money's worth - - but just don't want to go to the trouble of returning the box since it would be such a hassle and would have to go on yet another search for another storage box for my chess set. "Thumbs down", though, on this purchase.

I had a Turkish 32 piece 3.3 king and laser printed steampunk set with a truly bizarre 2 3/4” king with beer mug handles ; counting on the double sided coffer wells to protect it. Fair price considering the competition; sunken hinges a nice touch.
