I agree with other reviews that mention that this is a beautiful and well-made set. I am giving it 4 stars because the board I received has a fairly big dent in one of the squares and a few smudges along one of the side. See pictures.
Package was immaculately designed and the set is so nice pieces fun to play with and perfect size. I couldn’t be happier plus now the kids want to learn more about it because the set is so cool it draws them in.

I wanted to buy my first proper wooden chess set for Christmas and this set doesn't disappoint. Excellent quality of wood for the pieces and the board. I can feel the weight of the pieces in a way I've never felt before. I was iffy on whether I wanted the coordinates on the sides, but I'm glad I got them as I've been able to replay a few historical games as I wait for the chance to have my first real game on this beautiful board.
This board, the pieces and the storage box are just lovely - really feel nice when playing - we couldn't be happier! Pieces are heavy, nice felted bottoms - it's a joy to play on this set.
