This was Evan's first overnight camping trip to Deer Park in the Olympic mountain range of Washington. One mile above sea level, near the straight of Juan de Fuca he took in breathtaking views in all directions. That evening we played some chess with this set.

Product Specs
First, the small chess pieces are quite nice for their sizes. The bag or case is also of better quality than I previously imagined. The leather board is made of quality letter. The magnets are strong enough to keep the pieces on the board when you tilt it. I would add any centrifugal force by spinning them around as they would risk flying off. You will have to manage your expectations on the flatness of the leather board. From my experience with mine. It takes some time to go fully flat after unfolding it and taking it out of the case. I think there might be too much letter on the back. If this would be my product, I would inquire to the factory if they could stretch the letter before sewing it on the board. I took mine and placed it under a thick and heavy coffee table book for a while. The leather is now more malleable and squished. Resulting in the board sitting mostly flat. At this price point though... I think it is perfect. Glad I ordered!

I purchased one of these for myself and two more, one each for my two grandsons. I am very impressed with the quality materials and workmanship, and I love the extra queen! I am a chess coach and own a number of travel sets, but this is the only one with a leather board and an extra queen.
It's very enjoyable, well done, just like the pictures. I love the wooden pieces, the magnetic attachment is strong enough but let you play smoothly.
I have several boards, this it's now one of my personal favorite. I recommend for chess lovers to play wherever you go.

While the pieces are nice, the board does not fold flat, and the pouches were I tiight fit. I wonder if that warped the board. I'm not happy with the product considering the price.
