About The 19" Folding Wooden Chess Board - Sycamore & Mahogany

Folding mahogany and sycamore chessboard has a clean look and pairs well with many wood pieces. A folding wood chess board is more portable. 19" square with 2" squares it's ideal for classic staunton chess pieces. Instead of a gloss finish this board has a real wood feel as the surface is actual mahogany and sycamore veneer woods overlaid on birchwood core.

New chess board - partnered with Vintage ES Lowe chess set

I purchased the new board to go with my father's vintage 1945 ES Lowe chess pieces, that I learned to play chess on. The chess set is in wonderful condition in its wood box, but the board has gone missing. I am giving this set to my son, who will be thrilled to have it. The board looks beautiful, and the fact that it is a folding board is a definite plus. Thanks so much.

The board is heavier than expexted, but that is because it is dense, not hollow. It is well constructed and beautiful. It is such a joy to slide the pieces across the board as the surface is smooth. Shipping was faster than anticipated and board was adequately wrapped. Board did not have any dents scratches or anything. Overall, very satisfied!
