The heavy pieces are a must! they arrived in great condition, just as advertised, and the felt on the bottom looks like it will stay on for a while. The pieces don't feel like cheap plastic and are nice to play with. I will say, spring for a silicone board because the vinyl is SMELLY and doesn't always want to lay flat. This is my first set and I am having a lot of fun using it with friends and family. Excited to purchase another from Chess House.
