The board is attractive and nicely designed, although the hinges and clasps seem to be on the small side. The pieces themselves are a nice size and weight and are quite attractive. Overall, I think this set is a good value for the price paid. Apparently, others think so as well, since as I write this, the set has sold out.
The board itself looks pretty nice, and I like the pieces, but the lettering on the face of the board is incredibly sloppy, and it really doesn’t appear as though much care was put into it. I’m fairly disappointed.
Pretty set and nicely made. Minus 1 star neacause the pieces are light and the plastic liner inside does not hold the pieces firmly- they flop around in the box.
Beautiful set with so much character. It will be a privilege to play with my son on such a fine chessboard.
