The king / queen piece (one of them I don't remember) is a completely different color brown and does not match the rest of the pieces. The checkerboard was poorly printed. I cleaned up all the jagged lines with a black permanent marker and straight edge and also around the edge of the board. Where the wood was cut out for the hinges (2), the wood was cut jagged; cleaned that up too. When laying checkerboard down on a table the hinges on one side of the board stick out, thus scratching table it was placed on. Board needed piano hinge or a piece of felt to lay board on before placing it on table. I haven't use this set as of yet but I am sure I'll find something else that is wrong with it. Another Made in China piece of..., you know what. I do not recommend this item. Its a nice idea but needs a much better execution.
Hello! I purchased this 7 in 1 Game Set for a Father’s Day gift for my husband. He loves it! I had a few questions before making my purchase and customer service was great!
I had done my initial reviews on Checkers Sets and I ended up on this website which I am grateful for. The Checkers Sets available for purchase on other websites are awful. The reviews are awful too. The sets are cheaply made and wouldn’t last a year if that. Take my advice and don’t waste your time researching this elsewhere unless you want a cheap set.
My youngest daughter also wants to teach her father Chess. So this was a win win purchase. Yes, it is a bit expensive but, it’s well worth it.
Everything arrived in perfect condition. It’s great quality. All parts/pieces are beautifully made. The wooden box for storage & transportation is very classy looking. This 7 in 1 Game Set will be around for many, many years. We can’t wait to take this set away with us when we travel. Also, if any part breaks or gets lost customer service will be there to help. This game set is exactly what I wanted. The boards are very nice and the game pieces are perfectly sized to make the whole set portable without feeling too small. It all stows in a single hinged box very neatly.
My lovely wife has been wanting to learn chess. So we opted to acquire a combination game set with chess being the primary game (also cards, dominos, checkers, back gammon, etc). The set came with a wooden storage box that comfortably holds everything. It will travel with us on our weekend trips. Now then, were we happy with our purchase? Service was excellent, and I taught my partner the chess piece moves, and we spent the next two days hunkered down over the board... next day we ordered a full size "champion" chess set for display (and play) in our living room! Happy campers in Albuquerque, NM!
